A Sunny Start to the Season – May Holiday at Domaine Bonneblond
What a wonderful start to the season! The first week of the May holiday brought sunshine, great atmosphere and our first guests on the campsite. The vibe was immediately just right.
A couple enjoyed the views and tranquility in our treehouse, while a family quickly felt at home in the gîte. Children played by the swimming lake and on the trampoline, while parents relaxed on the terrace, soaking up the first rays of sunshine. To our surprise, we also welcomed many spontaneous campers arriving with tents or campervans — so nice to see!
In the evenings, guests gathered for drinks on the front terrace at sunset, and during the day, tips for great lunch spots in the area were happily shared (we’ll write a separate blog about that soon!).
For us, it was also a test week: we launched our new breakfast buffet and table d’hôte concept. Each morning, a fresh buffet was ready with a rotating breakfast special, and in the evening, guests joined us for a shared dinner. On Sunday, we hosted our very first pizza night — and it was a great success!
It was a fantastic week, but also a busy one. Between all the gezelligheid, we walked many kilometers and worked long hours. Still, we look back on it with tired but happy faces.
After some reflection, we decided to make a small adjustment to our dinner and breakfast concept. From now on, we will serve food five days a week in the evening: from Friday to Sunday you can join us for the daily special (with Sunday remaining our fixed pizza night), and on Monday and Wednesday you can enjoy a three-course table d’hôte dinner. On these five days, a breakfast buffet will also be available.
On Tuesday and Thursday, we take a little time to rest, so there will be no dinner or breakfast buffet — also important 😉
